Bernard Giloni Bio

Before starting the Gem Business, Bernard spent tens years as a director at SUNY Stony Brook (Stony Brook University) where he was in charge of Systems and Management Support, a department specializing in improving and establishing better business practices. After a successful career at the University, Bernard took early retirement to make more time available to raise his daughter.

Bernard has spent most of his professional life in business. He was in the auto parts business, owning three stores and a machine shop. Subsequent to that, he was involved in the computer business, both on the retail side and as a programmer. Bernard spent many years on the road displaying at gem trade shows. Currently he owns and runs two gem sites,

Both specialize in the gem and mineral business.

Bernard enjoys mining trips, day trips, antiquing, horse racing, spending time with his daughter, home improvements, car restorations, cooking and other hobbies.

Bernard is always available to the community for volunteer work. He is passionate about the gem business and gladly interacts with hobbyists and customers both to aid and advise. He is available for presentations related to many aspects of gems and minerals.
